Jeremy: “The original idea for Difference No Difference came to us in early 2017 during a visit to South Africa. At the time, it felt as if the well-trodden paths of discrimination from which the world had seemingly recovered, and learnt profound and long-lasting lessons, were once again being scorched through our time of peace and understanding. Our ancestors tried building walls, separating peoples, persecuting minorities because of their appearance or sexuality - basically, because of their difference - and as a human race, it got us precisely nowhere. Many millions have toiled, given their lives, sacrificed their own well-being over many decades, centuries even, to ensure that we have overcome hatred and division. How short-sighted, therefore, to wind the clock back and reopen those wounds. If someone is different to us, whether or not they choose to be different, unless they hurt us in the process, it really does make no difference to who we are, to our way of living. Who’d want a world where everyone looked and acted the same? Diversity is the spice of life. So 'Difference No Difference' is dedicated to anyone who feels they are different, for in some way, we all are.”
